Learn to fly by flying.

Aero Playground is a flight game with real flight physics, built by a flight instructor. Stalls that mush, spins that develop, taildraggers that want to swap ends, and gliders that reward a smooth hand.

Physics first

It flies like an airplane, because it's built like one.

Under the game is a flight simulator, checked by hundreds of automated flight tests against real performance numbers. The wing, the tail and the propeller are each modelled on their own, so the airplane climbs, stalls and spins the way the real one does.

Stalls and spins, for real

Hold it back and the airplane mushes, buffets and drops a wing. Push it into a spin and watch it develop, then fly the recovery.

Ground handling

A castoring tailwheel, brakes and rudder that matter. Crosswinds that try to weathervane you, and a ground loop if you get lazy.

The camera never lies

The view rides exactly on your flight path, so you see what the airplane is really doing, not where the nose happens to point.

Lessons

The fundamentals pilots spend years on, one lesson at a time.

Each lesson is briefed with pictures and spoken guidance, then the sim counts you in and hands you the controls.

Basic flying

Straight and level, climbs, descents, and the speeds that matter: best rate, best angle and best glide.

Takeoffs and landings

Crosswind technique, approaches from the side, and the flare, with a view that shows exactly how high you are.

Stalls and slow flight

Three stall drills, plus S-turns and coordination work scored on how well you fly them.

Fly together

Bring friends. Or your students.

Open and private rooms

Join the big open room, or share a 6-character code for a private room of up to 16 pilots.

Push-to-talk radio

Tune a frequency and hold TALK. Only pilots on that frequency hear you, with radio squelch and all.

For instructors and shows

The companion Aero Widget puts the simulation into Glass Overlay: live force vectors, the relative wind, instant replay from any angle.
